About ...aha!
The first meeting of The Association for Harbor Arts ...aha! was held on June 18, 1993 under the organization name Harbor Springs Area Arts Council. That summer was spent
formulating a Board of Directors, writing our mission statement and by-laws, acquiring 501(c)3 status, choosing a more representative name, and establishing the nature of our relationship with area schools.
Now in our eighteenth year, we have provided over $200,000 in programming, grants, scholarships, and arts services since our incorporation as a 501(c)3. We operate with an eleven member working Board of Directors and with no paid personnel.
The Association for Harbor Arts ...aha! owns no real property and we are not a booster organization associated with or connected to any school system. We are an independent non-profit entity offering artistic support in the local community, with a special focus on the children.
